How it smells

[ How it smells ]

01 / 05

Fresh

  1. Begin at the surface.
  2. Lime rind over brackish water. Bright and sunlit.
  3. Petitgrain adds a bitter green edge.
  4. Descend.
  5. The water turns to salt.
  6. Cold mineral spray, wet stone, the sea at the back of your throat.
  7. Slow.
  8. Jasmine hangs in the layer between, pale and airy.
  9. A thread of violet leaf keeps it green.
  10. Deeper.
  11. Dense, and still. Frankincense, dry and clean.
  12. Warm skin musk. The earth of vetiver.
  13. Stop.
  14. Forty-five to sixty minutes, to fully develop.
  15. It starts fresh and ends in salt. The layer in between is the point.

The story

The boundary holds.

A halocline is the boundary layer between fresh water and salt water. Salinity and density shift abruptly in a zone where the two bodies refuse to mix. It looks like glass. It distorts everything above and below. HALOCLINE is built around that moment.

The brightness lifts. Then pressure builds underneath.

It doesn’t resolve. It stays suspended.

How it wears.

  1. 0–15 min Opening Bright and fast. It doesn’t stay long enough to trust.
  2. 15 min–2 hr Heart The crossing. Cooler, stranger, harder to place.
  3. 2–8+ hr Base Settles low and stays close to skin. In no hurry to leave.

What an outstanding first release! Exceptional quality, long lasting without being cloying, fresh and interesting and extremely wearable. To me this is a soapy and salty everyday scent that could be a strong signature fragrance for the Doomsayer brand. Looking forward to more releases!

This is a strong first launch. The story arch is matched perfectly and for something more petrichor, it’s so very balanced with the floral and green aspects. Nicely blended and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Halocline instantly became one of my favourite aquatic themed perfumes. Is has an incredible fresh cleanliness to it followed by a subtle earthiness that instant had me saying "oh wow" out loud.

I’m really enjoying Halocline, and my wife loves it too! It has a wonderful blend of ocean air and the earthy, refreshing scent. It’s clean, calming, and natural without being overpowering. A unique scent that I’ll definitely be coming back to!

I am thoroughly appreciating the scent journey that Halocline is sending me through. It begins with a fresh sand and ocean vibe and as time is going on, it is truly becoming a deeper scent. I love the packaging and the atomizer is perfection. Splendid work my friend!

An exceptionally beautiful bottle and cap, matched by a scent that feels just as considered. Fresh, concentrated, and rejuvenating, it opens with the crisp impression of ocean salt air, settles into the green calm of leaves/ earth and the cool, mineral scent of rain wet rock. Great Job

Halocline has a presence. There is something familiar but you just can’t quite hold the memory. Tart salty air bitter greens, wet rocks, and a resinous dark depth. The first spray made brought me happiness. Halocline is well composed, Bravo!
